UNDER THE BLUE OF THE SKY.

My mum always tells us a story... of a time years ago, when she was still a little girl. She tells of how she used to sit under the blue sky and stare into the vastness of it. Deep down she had a knowing that there was way more, far beyond the clouds and the blue that she couldn't quite explain. She didn't know it then; but the older she got, she became more awakened to this One called God, the Man Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God. He really was hinting at her heart from long before, seeking her out. Brings me to scripture when Jesus said:

No one is able to come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and [then] I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day. - John 6:44 AMP

That was just a by-the-way :) I actually wanted to share on how nice it feels to just step away from everyday life and seek out a tranquil environment to spend time, intentionally with God. Grab your Bible, a cute notebook for the ladies and a cool one for our gentlemen around, a couple of pens and/or highlighters, maybe a worship playlist, a heart of true worship, etc and head on out for a picnic with your Father.

okayyy, I know you want to carry a bottle of water and some snacks too. Well, that's all up to you and your agreement with God.

Sometimes you just need a good quiet nature walk or hike. Don't worry about what you'll say to Him. Just go with the flow and peace that comes from yielding yourself wholly to the Spirit of God. His presence is enough. When you find yourself at a loss for words; I know you'll feel okay, just like MercyMe in the song 'Word of God Speak'.

I know that sometimes you won't have these opportunities. Which brings me to the main point at hand; be intentional about spending quality time with Him. Wherever you are, all that's needed is Him and you - good thing that is anywhere. In the washroom or the shower or the sea, on a bus or plane or in a car, on your bed or a couch or the floor, in the kitchen or at a restaurant, at the office or in class, on a mountain or deep in a valley, in those funny alleys or in the open streets, outside in the dark as you take out the trash or in the warm comfort and presence of your loved ones...

What are you waiting for? There goes another opportune second to be with Him presently.

Come close to God and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world - James 4:8. NLT

You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart - Jeremiah 29:13. ESV

Father, we thank You for inviting us to spend our whole lives with You. Please forgive us for when we ignored You. I pray that we will always know You as our life; not a part of it, in Jesus name I ask, amen.

Love, Serene Steph,
