FRIENDS?

 

When it comes down to physical and emotional love, it's 100% chemical... Chemical reactions that shift and fade, come and go and sometimes take time to come back. Deeper than the physical, lies the spiritual. The outward you is only skin-deep. Father so help us then, not to groom a lover but grow a friend. 

I pray we'll be friends, not acquaintances. Yes, rooted in heart and soul and not a mere handshake and an exchange of few words. To dive into the depths of soul, to know your thought and search your mind. 

When I was in high school, I read a quote that said:

"The only way to have a friend is to be one" ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Father, please teach us how to be friends as well as lovers and not just lovers. Teach us that beauty is superficial in the face of sustaining a relationship... Show us the template and guide us in Your principles. Show us the investment that brings the returns we desire. And may we walk on the path that leads to Your Kingdom, and soon enough we'll find the special someones to continue on the journey with. I ask all these in Jesus name. May Your will for us be done amen.
