DEAR ME, HOPE AND HOP.
One night, on my bed in the dark, there I sat and had a conversation with God... I was declaring, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." as if I hadn't heard myself correctly I replayed, "Plans to give you a hope... to give you... a hope." Voila! I had an epiphany. Father had revealed a new mystery in the same verse I've sang at the back of my mind since class 7 (grade 7), when it was a common question in tests.
"What did you recently learn is the meaning of hope?" Father asked.
HOPE: a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen.
"Father, You mean You have plans to give me a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen?" I asked, marvelled and in excitement. I could feel God take a pause and smile while having that look that resembles this emoji '😌' as if to say "mm-hmm".
"This is crazyyy!!!" is all I could think about. Then the Holy Spirit directed me to Romans 5:5 - and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Emphasis added).
Whatever hope is from God does not put us to shame. Hope for eternal life and even for the purpose and will He has for you while here on earth and thereafter.
"Wowww!" This was all unbelievable. Same verses new revelations. "So, if I have hope (desire/expectation) given to me by You for something, even if I do not see it yet, I should have faith because hope does not put me to shame...?" I asked.
And the response was, " What does Romans 8:25 say my love, but if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure. "
God is indeed able to give us expectation and desire! Dive into His word again in Psalm 37:4 - Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desire of your heart. (Emphasis added). This verse is literally saying, hey, hang out with God and enjoy all of the blessings found in Him just because He is God and He is always good, and not because the blessings are of benefit to you. Then, He will place in you those desires that are godly and cause you to want what He wants. I also recently noted that the Bible doesn't say 'grant' but give... there's a difference; there's a reason every word in the Bible is just that and not another.
What a mighty God we serve!
So dear me (me can be you too), HOPE and take that HOP. Take the leap of faith, wait with patience and composure. Show your faith with works, in Jesus name.
Father, thank You, sweet love of mine 🩵.
love, Serene Steph,
