HOPE FOR THE HELPLESS.
I just watched a Billy Graham video... He talked about how fast time flies. One day you're in school and the next, you're not. Brings me back to days like this; I can hardly remember the time frame correctly. My second and third year of high school felt like the same year. But it was Mon, August 30 if my Google photos is accurate. The time was 4:21 pm. I was at a staircase in a building where my mum works. Life was so gloomy at the time. My parents had split up the day before going back to school the previous school break, we moved to a one-bedroomed house in a flat that was built quite long ago, and my hair was clearly struggling <lol>. I was to go back to school the next day if I'm not wrong, so I came to torture my poor hair with another blow dry. I really didn't like going back to school. High school was a season and a half for me. All these are stories for another day.
I find it funny(in an odd or strange way), that I'm smiling in that photo. Honestly though, looking back at that season and time in my life; there was untold peace, and it wasn't coming from me. Life was crumbling but I was somehow standing by the strength and mercies of Another. Yes, the 'Another' in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
There's a lovely song by Third Day called 'Cry Out To Jesus'. It says:
There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary and love for the broken heart. And there is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing. He'll meet you wherever you are. Cry out to Jesus.
When you're lonely and it feels like the whole world is falling on you, you just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus. Cry to Jesus.
I know that everyone in life goes through challenges. God may allow these obstacles to come your way because He has a plan for you (Romans 8:28). You are fulfilling destiny as you overcome these challenges. God will never leave you without support (Hebrews 13:5). He has also given us His Holy Spirit, and many verses confirm this like Romans 8:11. What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? (Romans 8:31) Hallelujah! Take heart and rejoice, for from out of those dark tunnels lies a God with a lesson, the same God has His reasons and He has great plans for you for His Kingdom come.
High school is over, we moved out of the flat, my hair is thriving, my days are filled with the Light of the world, etc, all to the glory of our Father in heaven.
Remember that Jesus sympathizes with us, He had to endure the cross. He also had a challenging season before Him but He overcame. Praise the Lord. And now we're free! Can you smell that? It's salvation from God. He loves us so much (John 15:13).
Until next time, love, Serene Steph,
À bientôt!(see you soon:),
