HERE COMES THE SUN.
We were trusting God for good weather yesterday... Our church had been on 21 days of prayer with fasting. To break the fast, a fellowship and swallowship event usually proceeds. It's called Koinonia. This year, God blessed me with the privilege to be part of the event organising team. Thank You Father, all glory belongs to You.
There was a problem though. July is known to be a cold and sometimes rainy month, but we had planned to serve sodas to the congregants, and have some fun! So what did we do? We prayed.
But on the days leading to Sunday(yesterday), the Holy Spirit kept impressing on me the concept of Faith without action is dead[James 2:17]. Again, Hebrews 11:6 says, But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him(ESV).
I've heard stories of people praying for rain, and just a child showing up with an umbrella. But what about those praying for sun, how can they pray for it, and still show up dressed for the rain and with an umbrella at hand? Those were the thoughts stirring in my head.
So as I picked out my outfit in the morning, I wore just a light jacket by faith, even though it was a chilly morning. I looked at my umbrella and left it, by faith. On the bus, I still commanded the sun to show up and the clouds to scatter in Jesus name, by faith. Even though what I was seeing was not what I was trusting God for.
I also asked God if He would consider the faith of one or two people, supposing the rest may not act out theirs. Yesterday, I assuredly tell you, before I got to church, the sun was alreading peeping through the clouds; and the blue of the sky could be seen in bits. Again I confidently profess, I got back home in the evening with not a single drop of rain in view. Tell me it wasn't God and I'll deem you a liar or something for a really long time.
Let faith live on within us. God is faithful.
Father, thank You for the sun yesterday. Bisous bisous <3 in Jesus name, amen.
Love, Serene Steph
